TankLink announces enhancements to its TankData Online Inventory Management Service, a secure and robust web portal that gives customers 24/7 access to critical tank level information from virtually anywhere in the world.
Interactive Map Interface
The primary feature added, Tank Locator with Map Views, is an interactive map interface for both tank and location views, working from exact longitude/latitude coordinates. Each MAP view allows the user to leverage the best location information available (cellular tower, street address, photo position, and satellite GPS coming soon). In addition, the interactive map may be used to pinpoint the exact geo-code position of a tank or tanks, and can be viewed as either a street map or satellite aerial photo. The map interface may also be used to populate address details if that information is not available at the time of installation. This location data can be imported into third party tools for more advanced processing such as route optimization.
In addition, the Tank Details tab now allows the import of up to five photos of each tank. When taken by a smartphone with GPS capability, these tank photos provide further proof of exact location. This new feature can be especially helpful in reducing errors that commonly occur during replenishment.
Manage Wireless LAN
Another useful feature added via TankData Online v3.5 includes the ability to manage wireless LAN functionality. Users with privileges may disable the WLAN function on a Prophet Host, eliminating cross communication between Prophet Host devices, and also extends the maximum battery life for a Prophet Host. Users can also now select the actual battery configuration for all models with the Extended Battery Kit, and can view the cellular carrier for a specific tank. TankData Online v3.5 also provides a new User Field for the Customer Name. This is useful when the web site user is employed by a company other than the one that owns the tank monitoring equipment.
Partner View
Additionally, Tank Data Online v3.5 provides a new tool called Partner View. Partner View feature removes limitations associated with sharing of tank data between partner companies or with potential customers. A replica tank is a virtual representation of an actual tank, giving users with appropriate access the ability to view information about a tank regardless of the business relationship. Using the tank replicating tool, a TankLink support person can create the replicated tank in any other organization. Organizations receiving access to a replica tank can manage general information about the Partner tank, like tank name, route, region, or location independent of the real tank, but will not be able to control how the tank monitor functions. The tool is a great way to demonstrate the advanced features of the web site such as the delivery efficiency calculator using real world examples without sharing details about the tank or monitor that is generating the data.
